If you are a business, you may want to free up expensive office rental space, by storing documents with us. Many businesses also use us for their storage solutions – excess stock, bulk storage, holiday decorations, or tools and samples. We offer extended hours and self storage access that is free and unlimited. Some businesses use storage as their showroom or an extension of their office, as well as just storage. Many businesses and individuals use our parking storage for their cars and other vehicles.
How Secure is Safe Storage? “Safe” is in our name. Safe Storage is in a wonderfully secure area of Oakland. We may even be more secure than your own home. A few buildings away from Oakland Housing Police Department, the Oakland Police station is across the street, the BART Police is a few blocks away and Safe Storage is across the street from a grade school. Safe Storage has on site 24 hour security and a Closed Circuit TV with over 35 cameras. Nothing gets past us.
I’m moving houses – why should I store with you? If you’re selling a home, clearing out some of your things will make it less cluttered and more attractive to buyers. You can rent for as little as one month and we only require 7 days notice to vacate. We’re always staying competitive with our prices and are willing to match most anyone. We also rent BUDGET trucks in many sizes to help you move and we sell boxes, tape and more.
What Can I Store? If it’s not illegal, dangerous, highly flammable, perishable, precious or alive you can store it. Anything you store has to be in compliance with our
terms and conditions.
What Will It Cost? Not as much as you may think. We have a wide range of pricing, depending on the size of the storage unit. We stay competitive with our competitors and always want to give you the best price that we can. In addition we have many specials such as on Yelp, Craigslist, this Website and Facebook. And we also discount for Seniors, Military, Students and Businesses. Talk to us to find out more.

How Safe Are my Things at Safe Storage? We are almost like Fort Knox. With over 35 cameras, video surveillance, two iron gates, and more locks than we can count, we are doing all we can to keep your things secure. As a customer, your unit is securely padlocked and only you have the key. Keep it safe!
What About Protection? Safe Storage offers protection for your belongings, because we know they are important to you. You can read more about our protection plan on the Safe Storage Protection Plan page.
Why store with Safe Storage when I can use a Friends Attic or our Garage for Free? You friends don’t really want your things. Be a good friend and take care of your own stuff. At Safe Storage you can be sure that your things are safe, dry and clean at all times. And garages are for cars. Everyone in your family will be happier with a clean garage.
How Long Can I Store With Safe Storage? As long as you want. We have some amazing customers who have been with us for 30 years. They clearly like us. The minimum is one month. And you can give us 7 days notice – so you are never paying for storage you don’t want.
What If I Rent the Wrong Unit Size? It happens. And it’s no big deal. We have so many units to choose from, you can easily move units whenever you want. In fact we like to recommend to customers to be sure to downsize their units when they don’t need that much space anymore. We’ll leave the bigger units for those who really need them.
I Don’t Know How To Pack – Can You Help? Yes we can. We are trained Storage Experts. Ask us anything and we can assist. Over the phone or in person. We will recommend packing materials and supplies and give you good packing and storing tips if you ask. I might need less / more space in the future. Is this a problem? Of course not. You can easily decrease or increase the space you rent – so you’ll always have enough space, but never end up paying for too much space. You can find out how much space you need by asking us.
